Sri Lanka gets $80million to purchase Vaccines

The money can be used to vaccinate at least 18% of the population (around 4 mn people) in Sri Lanka.

Funds from other loan projects will be redirected for this purpose.

The WB observed that Sri Lanka, supported by its “well established health system” had faced the pandemic with resilience, and therefore the WB was keen to lend its support.

The World Bank (WB) recently announced that it will be releasing 80.5 million US dollar credit, in order to help Sri Lanka to purchase vaccinations to combat the covid-19 pandemic.
