Navy assists those affected by floods around the country

Following the floods experienced in certain parts of the Island, the SL Navy dispatched  2 relief team yesterday, (15) to assist those affected, in the Gampaha district.

15 teams were deployed altogether, across Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle and Matara, in order to rescue those living in flood prone areas.

They helped rescue communities in distress, carried out the distribution of relief supplies and continue to help individuals return to normalcy in their lives.

The relief teams of Rapid Response Rescue & Relief Unit (4RU) attached to Baddegama, Galle managed to rescue 02 females and 02 males trapped in Baddegama area due to flash floods.

In the event of a crisis, the Navy is equipped to provide relief assistance to the affected populations in Sri Lanka.
