President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued instructions to speed up import procedures of vaccines, so that more vaccines can be administered to the public, in order to guard against covid-19.
The president reiterated that a maximum number of shots should be administered within a short period of time. Special attention needs to be directed towards the Western Province, where the highest number of cases have been reported.
Officials stated that all possible measures have been put in place in order to curb the spread of the virus; including the isolation of certain areas, where a high number of Covid infected patients have been reported.
The public has been urged to lend their support in dealing with the health crisis, by abiding by covid-19 restrictions.
