The 5th Silk Road International Expo and China East-West Cooperation and Investment and Trade Fair was held in Xi’an–in the Shaanxi province, on May 12, 2021.
The opening ceremony was hosted by the Governor of Shaanxi Province Zhao Yide. The Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Dr. Palitha Kohona also participated in the event, as a special guest.
Diplomats and other officials from over 60 countries, were present at the event.
During his Speech, Dr. Kohona said that the advancement of e-commerce has widened China’s reach, enabling better opportunities for neighbouring countries, with easy access to China’s markets.He urged China to take necessary steps in order to allow the smooth entry of developing countries into their market.
